Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Systematic Global Macro hedge fund team in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing research and managing portfolios across various asset classes. Your primary focus will be on providing broad quantitative support, overseeing systematic quantitative models, and working collaboratively with the team to solve complex investment problems.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement systematic quantitative models and processes to support our investment approach
  • Collaborate with the team to solve quantitative investment problems and drive portfolio performance
  • Work closely with database developers and other quantitative analysts to ensure seamless integration of data and models
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and developments, applying your knowledge to inform investment decisions
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in economics, math, engineering, physics, or computer science, with a deep interest in solving complex problems
  • A proven passion for finance, with knowledge of the basics and a desire to learn and grow
  • Programming experience in languages like Matlab, R, or Python, with a working knowledge of math-related packages
  • Familiarity with data providers such as Bloomberg, Datastream, and Factset
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of your research process
