Trainee Urban Planner Opportunity

We are seeking an aspiring trainee urban planner to join our team and embark on a two-year fixed-term position. This role provides a solid foundation in statutory planning, development systems, and customer service.

The successful candidate will provide planning and development advice through our duty planner and pre-lodgement services. They will assist with assessing development proposals and related applications, support customers via various interactions, ensure applications meet legislative requirements, prepare reports and correspondence, undertake site inspections, and coordinate feedback from internal and external stakeholders.

To be eligible for this opportunity, candidates must have enrolment in a tertiary course leading to a qualification in town planning or a related discipline. Strong interest in development assessment and statutory planning is also required, along with good communication and interpersonal skills, basic understanding of relevant planning legislation and regulations, commitment to continuous learning and a proactive work ethic, and a Class C Driver's Licence.

  • Key Responsibilities:
