Job Responsibilities:

Mechanical Commissioning Engineers will work as part of the CAI Data Centre / Building Commissioning team and be responsible for the commissioning of mission-critical mechanical equipment, start-up and testing, as well as developing maintenance programs and plans.

Building commissioning professionals develop and execute the commissioning tests to demonstrate to the customer that vendor equipment are correctly installed and ready to operate, support enhanced design reviews, and consult on submission of LEED / Green Star qualification packages.

Mechanical Commissioning Engineers will be responsible for the following:

  1. Development of mechanical equipment and system test scripts
  2. Attend and be an active participant of customer equipment FWT/FAT
  3. Vendor coordination and management
  4. Perform equipment inspection to ensure build adherence to vendor submittal
  5. Provide test and documentation that equipment is delivered, installed, and tested correctly and set to function properly for customer
  6. Support and perform design specification review, manufacturer submittals, schematic drawing sets, and project schedule documentation
  7. QA/QC of mechanical equipment installation/startup
  8. Assign test commissioning tasks to mechanical commissioning team
  9. Execute test scripts to confirm equipment and system operation to design specification
  10. Ensure safe work practices are followed by all on commissioning team and customer site
  11. Engage with customers to ensure positive experience, goals achievement, and schedule adherence
  12. Provide daily reports for mechanical commissioning team status
  13. Conduct facility walk downs, turnover, and punch list reviews
  14. General understanding of LEED / Green Star specifications and requirements

Requirements:

  1. BS in a mechanical or engineering field or equivalent years' experience
  2. 2 years or more of experience in commissioning and qualification in a regulated industry, or facility engineering / facility management
  3. Experience in 1 or more of the following:
    1. Data centre construction / commissioning
    2. Mission Critical construction / commissioning
    3. Building commissioning
    4. Facilities and mechanical equipment startup walk downs & troubleshooting
    5. HVAC equipment
    6. Fluid/hydraulic systems
    7. TAB
    8. Factory Witness Test experience
    9. Mechanical commissioning processes
    10. Equipment / facility handover
  4. Data Centre facility operations experience is desired, but not required
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  6. MS Project experience
  7. Able to travel internationally if required. Subject to travel restrictions.
