Key Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Commissioning Engineers will integrate into the CAI Data Centre / Building Commissioning team, taking charge of the commissioning process for essential mechanical systems, overseeing start-up and testing, and formulating maintenance strategies. The role includes:
- Creating test scripts for mechanical systems and equipment
- Actively participating in customer equipment Factory Witness Tests (FWT) and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
- Coordinating and managing vendor relationships
- Conducting inspections to verify compliance with vendor specifications
- Providing documentation and testing evidence to confirm proper installation and functionality for clients
- Reviewing design specifications, manufacturer submissions, schematic drawings, and project timelines
- Ensuring quality assurance and quality control for mechanical installations and start-ups
- Delegating commissioning tasks to the mechanical commissioning team
- Executing test scripts to validate system operations against design specifications
- Promoting safe work practices among the commissioning team and at client sites
- Engaging with clients to ensure satisfaction and adherence to project timelines
- Delivering daily updates on the status of the mechanical commissioning team
- Conducting facility inspections, turnover processes, and punch list evaluations
- Understanding LEED / Green Star standards and requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 2 years in commissioning and qualification within a regulated environment, or in facility engineering/management
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Data center construction and commissioning
- Mission-critical facility commissioning
- Building commissioning
- Mechanical equipment start-up and troubleshooting
- HVAC systems
- Fluid and hydraulic systems
- Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB)
- Factory Witness Testing
- Mechanical commissioning methodologies
- Equipment and facility handover processes
- Experience in Data Centre operations is a plus, but not mandatory
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Proficiency in MS Project
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed, subject to travel restrictions
