Our organization is seeking a qualified commercial lawyer to join our in-house legal team.

Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level commercial lawyer to develop their skills and knowledge in a dynamic environment.

  • As a trusted advisor, you will be responsible for drafting and advising on client and commercial contracts, enhancing negotiation and agreement management skills.
  • You will also assist with various legal matters, including privacy and regulatory issues, employment law, investigations, disputes, litigation, and special projects.
  • Researching legal issues and providing commercial advice will be a key aspect of this role, deepening your understanding of legal principles.
  • Company secretarial support and exposure to corporate governance will provide valuable experience and skills.
  • You will also be responsible for updating business on legal developments and providing training, translating complex concepts into practical guidance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Commercial acumen and a strong work ethic.
  • A Bachelor of Laws (or Juris Doctor) and eligibility to practice in an Australian State or Territory.
  • 2-4 years PQE (private practice experience highly regarded).
  • An interest in contracts/commercial law and maintaining a broad practice.
  • The ability to interpret law and develop practical solutions.
  • Commitment to self-development and improving technical knowledge and expertise.

This is a hybrid role with a mix of in-office and work from home days available. You will be based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
