Course Development Specialist

The role of Course Development Specialist plays a crucial part in overseeing the logistical and communication aspects of new course creation. This position ensures timely completion and adherence to academic and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project timelines, workflows, and deliverables for new course development, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and deadlines.
  • Support the creation and review of course proposals, business cases, curriculum mapping, and accreditation documentation, ensuring governance and quality standards are met.
  • Serve as a central liaison between academic teams, learning designers, marketing, and compliance staff to maintain clear communication and alignment.
  • Maintain and distribute documentation templates and guides, ensure version control, and promote consistency and accessibility across course materials.
  • Track development progress, identify risks or delays, and implement mitigation strategies using dashboards and reporting tools.
Qualifications
  • Essential Skills: Bachelor's degree and/or qualifications and/or experience in project management, experience with curriculum development or higher education operations, strong organisational skills, knowledge of regulatory processes.
  • Desirable Skills: experience working within academic governance structures, familiarity with Learning Management Systems, experience in private or not-for-profit education institutions.
