We are seeking a motivated journalism graduate who is eager to commence a career within broadcast journalism. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity that will equip you with invaluable skills, paving the way for amazing long-term success in the industry.
The role requires gathering, editing and presenting compelling local news stories in a composed, accurate and engaging manner. Roster flexibility and a willingness to work extra hours when the news day demands are also necessary.
This position involves developing and maintaining positive relationships with key people and organisations, breaking stories and creating engaging content, and representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
About You:
You'll be a driven and energetic journalism graduate, with the ability to think clearly and act quickly under pressure, possessing excellent communication skills to collaborate with different stakeholders internally, as well as externally with the local community. A focus on tight deadlines and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment are also essential.
You will have:
- A degree in journalism, or related subject (e.g. media & communications)
- Proven journalism/ editorial skills
- A solid understanding of media law and ethics.
- Competency in script writing in TV News format
- Meticulous attention to detail
