We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ParaProfessional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and be committed to providing exceptional support in a classroom setting.

Job Summary

This is a ParaProfessional-PRE-K role at Brevard Public Schools, offering a unique opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other educational professionals to create a nurturing environment that fosters academic growth and social development.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A High School diploma or equivalent required; a minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited educational institution with at least 30 semester hours in general education core curriculum and/or child development and education or successful completion of the ParaPro test with a score of 457 or higher.
  • Experience working with children, with a focus on providing individualized support and promoting positive behaviors.
  • A Head Start Preschool assistant teacher must meet at least one of the following criteria: Hold a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential (preschool level); Possess a State-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds CDA requirements; Be enrolled in a program leading to an associate or bachelor's degree; or Be enrolled in a CDA credential program, with the expectation of completion within 2 years of hire.
Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary based on classification and pay plan for Classified employees:

  • Grade 18 $16.68 p/h (HS Diploma and ParaPro min score 457 or 60 hrs college credit in core curriculum)
  • Grade 19 $17.06 p/h (AA / AS or higher)
Others

This is a full-time, 9-month contract position with a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the students and the school community.
