About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Delivery Manager - Engineering to lead the charge in delivering cutting-edge IT solutions and driving innovation across our platforms at Coles.

The successful candidate will provide thought leadership, manage program delivery, and develop MVP solutions, fostering a high-performing team and ensuring that innovation platforms are aligned with our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the IT Strategy, focusing on emerging technologies like AI, computer vision, edge, and IoT.
  • Lead the delivery of tech spikes, prototypes, and MVP solutions, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
  • Oversee the development and operation of innovation platforms, setting standards and maximizing value delivery.
  • Manage a team of 10-20 people, developing their capabilities in line with our company values.
  • Lead vendor engagements and drive procurement decisions, ensuring third-party services meet our high standards.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to prioritize and schedule project pipelines.
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in scoping, building, and delivering new solutions such as innovative PoCs and MVPs.
  • Domain knowledge in emerging technologies (e.g., AI, computer vision, edge & IoT).
  • Experience in IT strategy delivery and agile project management.
  • Strong background in managing large teams and complex projects.
  • Expertise in design thinking, DevOps, and innovation frameworks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Graduate degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science or similar; a Master's degree in Business is preferred.
  • Previous experience in data engineering, data science or machine learning preferred.
