The Family Support Professional plays a vital role in empowering Indigenous families to enhance their children's early development, school readiness, and overall wellbeing.
About the RoleThis is an ongoing part-time opportunity within our Indigenous Parenting Service / Rural Program.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing family support and facilitated playgroups
- Delivering parenting and early childhood education services
- Counselling and support to vulnerable young people at risk of homelessness
- Early intervention for individuals with disabilities
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Qualifications in Community Services or a related field and/or relevant work experience
- A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and awareness of current issues faced by Indigenous communities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to design and deliver group activities based on local need
