The Opportunity

We're seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our Hot Mills Engineering team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical support to the day-to-day operations of our Hot Mills plants, as well as investigate and implement process improvement projects. You will also contribute to the delivery of capital projects within Hot Mills, ensuring they are completed on time and to budget.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide process engineering support for the day-to-day operations of the plant, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  2. Investigate and implement process improvement projects, identifying opportunities to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  3. Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines to deliver capital projects, ensuring they meet the required standards and specifications.
  4. Deliver continuous improvement outcomes to support the production and supply of our products, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards.
  5. Be a part of the process engineering network across BlueScope's various sites, sharing knowledge and best practices to drive innovation and improvement.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A degree qualification in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  2. A strong commitment to safety and wellbeing, with a focus on creating a safe and healthy work environment.
  3. The ability to translate business objectives into clear actions and outcomes for your team.
  4. A demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop others to enhance capability.
  5. The ability to influence peers and colleagues to meet operational requirements, scheduling, and people demands.
