Ecological Consultant Position

We are seeking a senior ecologist or botanist to lead ecological assessments, environmental approvals and conservation planning.

About the Role
  • Design and deliver ecological survey programs tailored to client needs.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports including ecological impact assessment, vegetation mapping and offsets advice.
Main Responsibilities
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex projects.
  • Provide expert advice on Victorian and Commonwealth biodiversity legislation.
  • Support junior staff in fieldwork, data analysis and reporting.
  • Liaise with clients, regulators and stakeholders to ensure project delivery aligns with client needs.
  • Prepare project proposals and tender submissions.
  • Assist in preparing expert evidence depending on experience.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, industry bodies and researchers.

Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in botany, ecology, environmental science or a related discipline. Experience: Minimum 5 years in ecological consulting or a related field.
