Ecological Consultant Role

The role involves coordinating and leading field-based ecology survey work, including baseline surveys, monitoring programs, and targeted flora and weed assessments across various bioregions.

Key responsibilities include planning, delivering, and analysing ecology surveys independently or collaboratively, performing impact assessments and designing mitigation strategies.

  • Project management: Lead and manage ecological projects, supporting internal clients with multi-disciplinary tenders and deliverables.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree in environmental science, ecology, biology or similar. A minimum of 7-10+ years professional experience in botanical surveys is also required, with a strong focus on ecological consulting, vegetation assessments, or related fieldwork.

Key skills and qualifications include excellent field skills and experience conducting surveys in various environments, including mining, remote, and Perth Metro areas. Strong technical reporting skills proficiency in GIS desktop and data collection packages (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS and Fieldmaps) are also essential.
