Principal Ecological Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist or Botanist to lead ecological assessments, environmental approvals, and conservation planning.
The successful candidate will design and deliver ecological survey programs tailored to client needs, prepare technical reports, and provide expert advice on Victorian and Commonwealth biodiversity legislation.
Key Responsibilities:- Survey Program Design - Lead the development of ecological survey programs to meet client objectives.
- Technical Report Writing - Prepare high-quality technical reports on ecological impact assessments, vegetation mapping, and offsets advice.
- Team Leadership - Oversee multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex projects.
- Biodiversity Legislation - Provide expert advice on Victorian and Commonwealth biodiversity legislation.
- Staff Support - Assist junior staff in fieldwork, data analysis, and reporting.
- Client Liaison - Collaborate with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure project delivery meets their needs.
- Project Proposal - Develop project proposals and tender submissions.
- Evidence Preparation - Assist in preparing expert evidence for presentations.
- Relationship Building - Foster relationships with clients, regulators, industry bodies, and researchers.
