Aviation Security Officer Job Description

As an Aviation Security Officer at Melbourne Airport, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of air travel.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough security checks on passengers and their belongings to prevent unauthorized items from entering secure areas.
  2. Monitor access to sensitive areas, conduct searches, and identify potential threats such as weapons, explosives, or prohibited items.
  3. Optimize the flow of passengers through security screening processes efficiently.
  4. Effectively communicate with passengers, colleagues, and management to ensure seamless operations.
  5. Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in customer-facing roles or a strong interest in aviation security.
  • Ability to complete training and obtain relevant certifications, including Certificate II in Transport Security Protection.
  • Pass drug and alcohol screenings and medical assessments successfully.
  • Obtain ASIC clearance (within the past 10 years) and hold a valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
