Take your career to new heights as a full-time, permanent Aviation Advisor

In this role, you will provide specialist advice on aviation operations, conduct comprehensive safety audits, and oversee the delivery of aviation-related projects for our clients. Serving as the primary point of contact for aviation matters, you will ensure alignment with SGS standards while offering guidance grounded in regulatory frameworks and internationally recognised best practices.

This opportunity offers flexible location options across Australia, with a preference for candidates based on the East Coast.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and conducting aviation audits and assessing operator safety for SGS Aviation clients.
  • Providing technical and commercial aviation advice.
  • Preparing written audit and project reports with recommendations for the conduct and continuous improvement of client aviation activities.
  • Following-up and closing out issues raised during audits and projects.
  • Maintaining professional contact and effective working relationships with clients.
  • Maintaining professional qualifications through company training and participation in SGS Aviation seminars where possible.
  • Discharging administrative duties required for the efficient conduct of their position.
Qualifications

Candidates will be expected to demonstrate:

  • Airline transport pilot's license (for at least 8 years and over 2500 flight hours) with previous exposure to maintenance activities, or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license with relevant operational experience.
  • Ideally, 15 years' experience in the aviation industry, including experience relevant to SGS Aviation's activities.
  • Successful completion of full Safety Management System training.
  • Auditing experience, with at least 10 aviation-related audits conducted within the last 4 years.
  • Completion of a quality/safety (ISO approved) lead auditor course.
  • Solid understanding of CASA and ICAO regulations.
  • Experience auditing aircraft operators (fixed or rotary wing), and inspecting aerodromes and offshore helidecks.
  • Valid BOSIET training certificate for offshore travel.
  • BARS auditor qualifications/accreditation (highly regarded).
  • RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) experience (preferable).
