Risk and Compliance Specialist Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team where you will play a key role in embedding and overseeing the company's enterprise-wide risk and compliance framework.

As a Risk and Compliance Business Partner, you will be responsible for supporting the ongoing review and enhancement of the enterprise risk management framework to align with evolving business objectives. You will also maintain and update enterprise risk and control registers in collaboration with business units.

The successful candidate will facilitate risk workshops to review and challenge risk profiles and ensure stakeholder input. They will lead control assurance activities, including independent testing of critical controls and tracking remediation. The candidate will also coordinate internal audit activities and oversee audit action closure in partnership with the Head of Risk and Compliance.

In addition, you will oversee compliance deliverables tied to regulatory obligations, including the Operating Concession Deed. You will support data governance activities with a strong risk and compliance lens. Furthermore, you will collaborate with technology and cybersecurity teams to assess and improve associated risks, controls, and plans.

To be considered for this role, you should have at least 5 years' experience in risk and compliance, internal audit, control assurance or related fields such as law or data governance. You should also have hands-on experience enhancing risk frameworks, testing control effectiveness, using the Bowtie method, and delivering reporting that informs decision-making.

Familiarity with recognised technology and information security standards, such as ISO 27001, IRAP, or NIST frameworks, is essential. Knowledge of the Commonwealth or Victorian privacy regulations, including Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and standards/guidance from regulators such as OAIC and OVIC, is also required. Experience in data governance and information/data classification frameworks is highly desirable.
