We are seeking a
Chief Governance Officer
to join our highly effective Executive Team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our services. This newly created role will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of governance, risk management, compliance, and corporate integrity across the organisation.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and supported by a long-serving Board, the Chief Governance Officer will lead with presence, clarity, and influence on matters of care quality, consumer safety and organisational governance. You will oversee all aspects of clinical and corporate governance, compliance and risk management to ensure the organisation operates to the highest standards of transparency, accountability and corporate integrity.
Key responsibilities include:-
- Strengthen and oversee the organisation's governance framework and risk management systems.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and accreditation requirements across aged care and related sectors, embedding a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Team, CEO, and Board to provide strategic advice and authoritative guidance on governance, policy and regulatory matters.
- Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
- Lead organisational transformation, supporting a newly defined leadership structure where governance and operations are distinct but interdependent.
As the ideal candidate, you will be an experienced governance executive with a proven track record in leading governance and compliance functions within a complex, regulated environment. You combine technical expertise in governance, risk and compliance with exceptional strategic judgement, influencing capability, and strong stakeholder engagement skills. Highly ethical and collaborative, you are motivated to contribute to an organisation with a strong social purpose. As a clinical leader, ideally with a strong background in aged care and residential services, you will be a Registered Nurse with a current AHPRA Registration. Beyond your technical expertise, your ability to engage, communicate, and bring people on the journey will be critical to success.
