About this leadership position

This is a key, strategic role in a non-profit organization. The General Manager Corporate Services plays a critical part in assisting the organization achieve its objectives.

The Opportunity:

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and a key member of the Leadership Team, the General Manager Corporate Services has responsibility for all corporate functions (finance, compliance, risk management, human resources, information technology and office administration).

You will be part of a collaborative, dedicated team who are passionate about the organization's mission to actively support the adoption of approaches to substance use which promote safety and human dignity.

The Person:

You are likely to be an experienced professional with a strong background in finance and experience managing other corporate services functions such as risk and compliance, human resources and information technology.

You have a desire to give back to society by undertaking impactful, cause-based work and enjoy being hands-on across the breadth of finance but also like to contribute in other areas of an organisation where you can add value.

The Role:

The General Manager Corporate Services plays a broad and critical role in the successful operation of the organization. While the primary focus is on finance, the incumbent is also responsible for the effective and efficient operation of several other functional areas including compliance, risk management, human resources and information technology.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leadership: Contribute to the development and effective delivery of the organization's program of work, provide strategic and operational leadership for all corporate functions and attend and advise at team, committee and Board meetings, as required.
• Finance: Prepare annual budgets and cash flow forecasts for individual projects and the overall organization, prepare monthly management and annual statutory financial reports in accordance with applicable requirements and manage engagement with, and provision of information to, external auditors.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Manage the organization's risk management and compliance program and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, legislative and procedural obligations, including workplace health and safety obligations.
• Information Technology: Oversee the efficient and effective operation of all IT systems and oversee the implementation of initiatives to mature the organization's digital footprint.

Other responsibilities include managing administrative staff, overseeing the efficient and effective operation of all IT systems and managing the organization's human resources system.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as finance, accounting or business administration.
• At least 5 years' experience in a senior finance or corporate services role.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in risk management, compliance and IT would be highly regarded.
