This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a high level of initiative, innovation, and confidentiality. As a Registered Nurse with Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation, you will play a crucial role in improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal men in the Tennant Creek region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain culturally appropriate and accessible health services for men, in collaboration with Aboriginal Health Practitioners.
- Continuously develop and promote Anyinginyi Health programs, participating in health and wellbeing check clinics.
- Provide STI education, screening, and contract tracing.
- Deliver healthcare to men, youth, aged, and people with disabilities, including prompt follow-up and recall of patients.
- Facilitate tracing and treatment of patients moving between communities, homelands, and outstations.
- Deliver substance abuse care, nutritional care, and mental health care.
- Provide capacity building education and information sessions to the community.
- Involve traditional elders and leaders in promoting health and wellbeing within the community.
- Initiate and participate in health promotion activities aimed at individual and population health preventative initiatives.
About You
To be considered for this position, you must possess current registration as a Registered Nurse and have an evidenced understanding of the Primary Health Care system and key issues relevant to closing the gap in health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Experience working with an Aboriginal organisation or communities will be highly regarded, but is not essential. You must be an exceptional communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills, able to tailor your approach to the needs of each family and build effective relationships with our clients.
Please note: A National Police Clearance and Ochre Card (NT Working with Children's) card obtainment is a requirement prior to commencement in this role.
