Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced HR professional to lead our Human Resources team in regional Queensland. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day HR and payroll operations, ensuring compliance with legislation and supporting positive outcomes for staff across the organisation.
About the Role
This is a hands-on position responsible for managing human resources and payroll functions, including employee relations, payroll, and learning and development activities. You will provide expert advice on workplace legislation, industrial relations, and organisational change processes. Additionally, you will support leaders and staff through employee relations matters, including investigations and performance issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily HR functions, including employee relations, payroll, and learning and development activities
- Provide guidance to leaders on employee relations, industrial matters, and change management
- Mentor and lead a small HR team
- Represent the organisation in meetings and provide accurate, timely reporting as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Operational HR experience, including payroll
- Strong knowledge of awards, legislation, and compliance frameworks
- Strong communication and relationship-building ability
- Local Government experience (desirable)
- Current driver's licence and willingness to live and work in a regional location
