About This Role
Risk Assurance Manager - Retail Banking Services (RBS) is responsible for managing RBS's overall risk portfolio, ensuring the division has appropriate strategies and frameworks in place to assess, manage and report on credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks.
This role contributes to the RBS Risk Management team, working closely with senior business leaders to manage risk and control gaps, and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the EM Compliance Assurance and Monitoring and the Senior Managers across stakeholder management engagement with Group Compliance and RBS stakeholders.
- Conduct 'deep dive' reviews into areas of potential concern, including planning, scoping and performing detailed reviews on business strategy, projects, transactions and processes.
- Review and challenge existing processes and practices.
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and help the business identify opportunities to improve processes.
Requirements
- Experience in assurance roles preferred, such as Big4 internal audit or external audit, internal audit, and/or Line 2 assurance.
- Knowledge of financial services law and practice pertaining to retail banking services is desired but not required.
- Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of retail banking processes and products is desired.
- Good judgement capability, and an ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner using a variety of information.
