Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing advanced social work services, leading complex cases, and contributing to service planning, evaluation, and quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead crisis intervention including trauma, counseling, case management for patients/families with illness adjustment, domestic violence, child protection, end of life care, and bereavement support
  • Supervise staff and students
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for service improvement and provide training and education
  • Initiate, lead, complete, and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes
Requirements:
  • Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW)
  • Clinical experience in crisis intervention, staff and student supervision, policy development, and quality improvement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, report writing skills, and high-level computer literacy
  • Negotiation, decision-making, and advocacy skills with diverse stakeholders
