Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team in Tennant Creek and surrounding Barkly communities.

You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality healthcare services, managing illness, promoting well-being, maintaining health systems, providing education, and encouraging community health action in female health throughout the Barkly Region.

  • Participate in primary health care service delivery.
  • Undertake a wide range of nursing duties.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary decision-making pertaining to client care.
  • Complete health checks, care plans, and team care arrangements.
  • Administer medication.
  • Facilitate telehealth to promote continuity of care.
  • Distribute Health education and promotion.
Key Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse, you will:

  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve patient outcomes through effective care planning.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Hold current registration as a Registered Nurse (AHPRA).
  • Able to abide by CARPA Standard Treatment Manual.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, values, and beliefs.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with culturally diverse groups.
  • Current certification to administer vaccines in the NT (or able to obtain).
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and conflict management.
  • High level of communication, negotiation, and consultation skills.
  • Knowledge and experience monitoring health and safety standards.
  • Hold a valid NT driver's license.
  • Meet Public Health Orders for health industry workers in NT.
  • Be fully COVID-19 vaccinated.

  • A competitive salary range of $104,817 - $111,990 per annum (N3Y1 – N3Y3)

About You

To be considered for this position, you must possess a clear understanding of the Primary Health Care system and key issues relevant to closing the gap in health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

While experience working with an Aboriginal organization or communities is highly regarded, it is not essential if you can demonstrate a clear understanding of the issues pertaining to Aboriginal Primary Health Care and the social determinants of health in our surrounding communities.
