
Solar Plant Operations Specialist

About the Role:
">- Oversee the smooth operation of solar power installations, ensuring failure-free performance and minimal downtime.
- Conduct continuous reviews of plant equipment and systems to anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, identifying opportunities for improvement along the way.
- Maximize overall efficiency and value by collaborating with maintenance teams across the fleet, leveraging expertise to optimize results.
- Understand and execute dispatch obligations for each resource according to contractual requirements, prioritizing effective availability and performance.
- Stay vigilant about potential impacts of outages on effective availability and performance requirements.
- Challenge maintenance teams to maximize plant effective availability, while maximizing value during required maintenance activities.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of operating contracts, protocols, transmission entity handbooks, agreements, and relevant standards or regulations applicable to generator operators/owners.
- Work closely with the Control Centre to review, evaluate, and organize corrective actions for Field Technicians.
- Evaluate documentation and work records for accuracy and ensure prompt reporting.
- Responsible for generating comprehensive reports on assigned PV installations.
- Accurately document annual maintenance plans based on checklists, tickets, and other relevant information.
- Deliver detailed information to customers, preparing or coordinating documentation of activities performed or learned.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries with technical-operative content.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding distributed reports.
- Determine necessary additional work and retrofitting for assigned projects, calculating customer offers for extra services resulting from ongoing O&M activities.
- Manage delivery of larger orders to customers.
- Demonstrate expertise in PV and renewable energy power plants, EH&S compliance, management, operations, and maintenance.
- Show commitment to delivering best practice operations & maintenance methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience communicating with network service providers & AEMO.
- Understanding of contracts and comprehension of agreement requirements.
- Display a high level of commitment to customer success.
- Proven ability to efficiently execute tasks defined by maintenance plans.
- Demonstrate strong organization skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
- Be reliable, organized, and team-focused.
- Demonstrate expertise in deep-diving into technical issues, including root cause investigations.
- Experience managing third-party contractors.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
