Role Overview
Supporting kinship carers to build nurturing environments and connections with their culture, identity, and community is a pivotal role in ensuring children thrive in safe and familiar surroundings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalized support plans for kinship carers to promote stability and placement outcomes.
- Collaborate with families and community services to identify training needs and boost carer confidence.
- Conduct thorough assessments and lead carer inductions to inform care planning and placement decisions.
- Organize meaningful events and activities that foster connections between children and their carers, promoting lasting relationships and memories.
- Provide on-call support to kinship carers, responding to urgent queries and concerns in a timely and empathetic manner.
- Maintain accurate placement records and manage carer renewals to ensure seamless service delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences, social work, or psychology is essential for this role. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are also critical in building trust and rapport with kinship carers and stakeholders.
