Engineering Internship Opportunity

Are you a talented and ambitious individual looking to gain valuable experience in the field of engineering? We are currently offering an Engineering Internship opportunity for a period of up to 6 months.

As an Engineering Intern, you will have the chance to contribute to our Council's Works Program, preparing sketches for infrastructure projects and assisting in project briefs and budget estimates. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of our Council's infrastructure assets, including roads, footpaths, bridges, seawalls, retaining walls, streetlights, bus stops, stormwater drainage, kerb & gutter, and other civil infrastructure assets.
  • Prepare sketches for footpath expansion, road resurfacing, heavy patches, and kerb & gutter repairs using GIS tools such as CADCorp SIS Mapping Software.
  • Assist in the preparation of project briefs and budget estimates, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately documented and presented.
  • Inspect and document the condition of our Council's assets, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting solutions.
  • Provide support to our Infrastructure Services team with investigations related to customer requests and enquiries.
  • Assist in the preparation and release of flood certificates and real estate pointer sign permits.
