About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Child Wellbeing Specialist to join our team at The Orange Door in Croydon. As a key member of our integrated team, you will provide specialist support to children and young people who are experiencing or have experienced family violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide initial response and risk assessment to individuals referred to the Hub
  • Engage with clients to identify their needs and develop a plan to support them
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure a whole-of-family approach
  • Identify and assess risks and needs of clients, and prioritize support accordingly
  • Recognize and identify limits of own expertise and seek advice or refer clients to other specialists
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Specialist, or related behavioral sciences
  • Substantial experience working with children and families, particularly in family violence contexts
  • Resilience to work with clients who have been exposed to trauma
  • Ability to identify, assess, and prioritize risks and needs of clients
  • Capacity to recognize and identify limits of own expertise
