The Electrical Team Lead plays a pivotal role in driving business growth and technical excellence within the electrical discipline.
This leader will oversee design, staff development, workload management, profitability, employee morale, and quality control, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional results.
\Responsibilities- Establish strong client relationships and participate in marketing activities to foster business development.
- Strategically manage the technical and operational aspects of the electrical discipline, fostering innovation and efficiency.
- Engage early with design partners to inform project intent and drive conceptually driven solutions.
- Prepare and review project budgets and scopes for the electrical discipline, monitoring financial performance and making adjustments as needed.
- Coordinate schedules and workflows within the discipline, ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Establish clear work priorities and project assignments for team members, promoting accountability and productivity.
- Monitor scope of work and scope changes, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Facilitate coordination between disciplines, fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
- Support the hiring process by conducting interviews and providing new employee mentoring, contributing to the growth and development of the team.
- Develop and implement employee goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Organize section meetings to discuss key issues, including productivity, workload, and quality control, driving proactive solutions and best practices.
- Invest in the professional development of team members through training, education, and experience, enhancing skill levels and expertise.
- Collaborate with electrical discipline managers across locations to review workload, project status, and staffing requirements, promoting a unified approach and resource allocation.
- Prepare and review electrical engineering scope of work and fees for proposals, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, codes, regulations, and client standards, disseminating knowledge to the team and implementing necessary changes into design standards, procedures, and deliverables.
- Perform quality control reviews, ensuring adherence to established standards and benchmarks.
- Occasionally serve as Project Manager or Task Lead, leveraging leadership skills and expertise to drive project success.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of management experience.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Previous experience in an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
- Experience in design calculations, specifications, and construction drawings for corporate/commercial development, industrial, federal, or mission-critical projects.
- Proven ability to mentor junior staff.
- Preference given to local candidates.
- Interest in sustainable design and high-performance building design, with credentials in LEED.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience.
- Professional registration, license, or certification may be required based on role.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good leadership and organizational skills.
