Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to support Her Honour Judge Brimer in her role as Judge in Charge of the Arbitration List and sitting in the Court's Commercial Division.

The County Court of Victoria has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in Victoria, handling over 12,000 cases per year across the Criminal, Common Law and Commercial Divisions.

This growth in commercial work has increased both size and complexity following the removal of the monetary limit on the Court's jurisdiction.

As a key member of the Judge's team, you will be responsible for case file management, strong communication at all levels, legal research, and writing. This includes providing operational, administrative, and technical legal support both in chambers and in court.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Judge
  • Manage case files and ensure accuracy and attention to detail
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare comprehensive reports
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including judges, lawyers, and other court staff
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly
