Lead Community Development Specialist

This role involves leading the local delivery of community development initiatives through training, coaching and mentoring both staff and volunteers. You will also be responsible for growing community engagement in the geographical area by establishing new programs and partnerships.

The successful candidate will cover areas in Greater Sydney and the surrounding towns and communities. They will need to be based in the area due to the networking responsibilities of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading team members in delivering community development projects
  • Building strategic partnerships with community groups and organizations
  • Developing and implementing community engagement strategies
  • Mentoring and coaching staff and volunteers

Requirements

  • A minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership or management role, preferably in a not-for-profit environment
  • Demonstrated ability to network, build relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as community development, leadership, business or social sciences
  • Experience in community fundraising and involvement in the Education sector is desirable
  • Driver's license essential
