
Leading Educator for Student Wellbeing

The role of a Mental Health and Wellbeing Leading Teacher is to promote student mental health, wellbeing, and academic achievement. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to develop strategies that address the challenges faced by students and staff in a rapidly growing educational institution.
Key responsibilities include contributing to the development and implementation of processes and strategies that support student learning, wellbeing, and engagement. This may involve working with teachers to build their capacity through differentiated learning, peer observations, and feedback.
Another critical aspect of this role is to embed the use of data and evidence to differentiate curriculum and pedagogy, increase cognitive challenge, and promote rich learning tasks. To achieve this, the successful candidate will need to have high level interpersonal skills and the ability to establish collaborative relationships with students, parents, and staff.
As part of our Professional Learning Community (PLC) model, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Leading Teacher will be expected to contribute to building teacher capacity through various means, including developing and delivering professional learning opportunities. Additionally, they will work closely with other members of the school community to identify and implement strategies that promote student wellbeing and engagement.
To excel in this role, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a deep understanding of the importance of mental health and wellbeing in education. They will also need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
