About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate to join our dynamic team in Melbourne. As an Associate, you will work closely with Partners and senior lawyers on various employment and WHS matters, providing advice and representation to employers in litigious and non-litigious cases.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on WHS and employment legal compliance
  • Represent employers in defence of WHS prosecutions and internal/external review of enforcement notices
  • Provide advice and representation in regulatory investigations, unfair dismissal, discrimination, and general protections claims
  • Advise on industrial relations matters, including right of entry, disputes, enterprise bargaining, and industrial action
  • Act in post-employment confidentiality and restraint of trade disputes
  • Manage employee disciplinary and performance issues, ill and injured workers, psychosocial health, workplace bullying, and sexual harassment matters
  • Work with national and global teams on cross-border matters and project delivery
  • Conduct business development and marketing initiatives, including client training, seminars, and tender documents

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years PQE working within a reputable employment law practice
  • Experience in contentious and non-contentious employment matters
  • Confidence to deal directly with clients and work collaboratively across the NRFA network
  • Excellent written, drafting, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $AUD 150,000 - $200,000 per annum, commensurate with relevant experience. We offer a competitive remuneration package, excellent career prospects, and a collaborative culture.
