Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Compliance Specialist to join our team. As an Industrial Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that suppliers meet the required quality standards and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote Quality Excellence: Propose actions to reduce manufacturing risks, including lean initiatives and areas for process improvement to ensure on-time delivery from suppliers.
  • Solve Non-Conformities: Inform and propose solutions like improvement plans, dual sourcing, and corrective actions for suppliers to resolve non-conformities quickly and efficiently.
  • Analyze Supplier Performance: Analyze incoming inspection results to ensure supplier compliance and track defective parts return and non-conformity resolutions.
  • Collaborate with Suppliers: Validate supplier's First Article Acceptance in collaboration with the Product Support Manager to ensure alignment with company standards.
  • Improve Supply Chain Quality: Improve and align entry/exit controls between suppliers and the organization for consistent quality, confirming, tracking, and coordinating remediation actions with suppliers for non-conforming parts.
  • Develop Analysis and Corrective Actions: Come up with analysis and corrective actions with suppliers, making sure proper causal analysis and preventive measures for major non-conformities.
  • Quality Performance Reporting: Consolidate and report on supplier quality performance, assist with updates to supplier records, and help define new acceptance criteria.
Requirements
  • Relevant Qualifications and Experience: Relevant tertiary qualification complemented by practical experience, ideally in FMCG, manufacturing, industrial, Oil & Gas, or Defence sectors.
  • Effective Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders, building long-term relationships while adhering to ethical standards.
  • Problem-Solving and Initiative: Ability to anticipate issues, take initiative, and identify areas for improvement, proposing actionable solutions that add value.
  • Challenging Suppliers: Experience in challenging suppliers, ensuring adherence to quality processes, and using commercial contracts and ERP tools to optimize performance.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead teams with a focus on customer needs, driving performance towards defined standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Operational Events and Planning: Strong understanding of operational events, the ability to assess priorities, and the capability to plan for medium-term improvements that support business objectives.
  • Australian Defence Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain Australian Defence clearance.
