Home Care Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Home Care Assistant to join our team in Darwin and Palmerston areas. As a Home Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting older Australians to live better for life in their own homes.
You will achieve this by building strong relationships with your clients, understanding their individual needs, goals, and preferences, and delivering tailored support with daily tasks, activities, personal care, and mobility assistance.
Your role will involve helping clients to live happy, healthy, and active lives, improving their quality of life. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills and career through exceptional learning opportunities, including up to 25 hours of paid training when you join the team.
Additionally, you will be supported to develop your skills and career, and enjoy other benefits such as a motor vehicle allowance for travel between clients and a full working toolkit, including a mobile phone.
About YouTo succeed in this role, you will need to possess a Certificate III in a relevant field, First Aid certification, and a current and unrestricted driver's license with a registered and insured car.
You will also need to have demonstrated experience in a personal carer role without direct supervision, sound best practice personal care skills, and a good understanding of the requirements to support clients living with dementia.
Other essential skills include strong organizational and time management skills, the ability to build positive relationships with clients and their representatives, basic cooking skills, and a basic understanding of aged care packages.
