Strategic Operations Manager

About the Role- The Executive Director, Corporate Services leads statutory compliance and performance across business planning, legal, human resources, communications, governance, and risk functions.
- They oversee a group that supports executives, requiring a leadership approach that empowers direct reports while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
The role shapes and executes strategies protecting and advancing organisational interests in law, regulation, privacy, and information access.
Main Responsibilities- Provide expert guidance on complex matters and collaborate with the General Counsel to ensure effective representation in legal proceedings.
- Foster continuous improvement in work health and safety, governance, and enterprise risk management, promoting a cohesive risk culture.
- Lead high-performing communications and public affairs, managing media and ministerial relationships for timely, accurate, and consistent communication with Parliament, stakeholders, and the public.
The Executive Director provides strategic oversight of people and culture initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational goals in areas like leadership development, engagement, wellbeing, and talent management.
Requirements- A relevant tertiary qualification in law, business management, human resources, communications, government relations, or a related field.
- Extensive senior executive experience, with a strong track record in strategic leadership, statutory reporting, and policy development.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional issue management capabilities, including navigating complex matters with sound judgment and discretion.
