The Research Ethics and Governance Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the governance of all research activity within Queensland Health.

This involves leading, supporting, coordinating, and managing the Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) to align with organisational goals, national health guidelines, and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage research governance, compliance, monitoring, and integrity functions
  • Stay updated on legal, ethical, and financial issues related to human research projects
  • Communicate effectively with research leaders, academics, and clinical researchers
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements
