Expert Paediatric Speech Pathologist

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires an experienced paediatric speech pathologist to lead the day-to-day operation of paediatric speech pathology services at FMC.
About the RoleThe Senior Speech Pathologist will be accountable to the Allied Health Service Manager, Women's & Children's Health, for the planning, development, co-ordination, implementation and evaluation of the paediatric Speech Pathology services provided to inpatients and outpatients.
- Provide acute speech pathology assessment and management of complex clinical cases including utilisation of instrumental investigation in the evaluation of swallowing (eg FEES, videoflouroscopy) where clinically indicated.
- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day operation of paediatric speech pathology services at FMC.
- Provide advice to management on professional service development, practice and redesign, in response to demand and client needs.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and training to other members of the team.
- Participate in teaching and training of speech pathology students on clinical placement.
- Speech Pathology Services: Provide expert assessment and management of complex paediatric feeding and dysphagia cases.
- Leadership and Coordination: Lead and coordinate the day-to-day operation of paediatric speech pathology services.
- Clinical Supervision: Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and training to other members of the team.
- Professional Development: Provide advice to management on professional service development, practice and redesign.
- Education and Training: Participate in teaching and training of speech pathology students on clinical placement.
- Experience: An experienced paediatric speech pathologist with skills in the clinical management of paediatric feeding and dysphagia.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and work as part of a team.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families and healthcare professionals.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.
- Independence: Demonstrated ability to work in an independent manner with limited supervision.
- Qualifications: Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia.
- Salary: $104,180.00 - $111,746.00 (Pro Rata)
