Aboriginal Policy and Projects Lead

The role of the Aboriginal Senior Policy and Projects Officer is a key position within our organization, responsible for providing specialist policy advice and high-level analysis on issues and strategies in line with the NSW Grants Administration Guide and departmental expectations.
This individual will lead projects and teams to deliver grant programs in line with Youth Justice key policy directions and strategic plan. They will work closely with key stakeholders, including government departments, non-government service providers and advocacy groups, to ensure successful project delivery.
A significant focus of this role will be on working with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations or Aboriginal businesses, requiring an accurate understanding of their needs and challenges.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage and implement research activities, program reforms, and evaluation projects as allocated by the Manager.
- Provide high-level advice on grant design and compliance with the NSW Grants Administration Guide.
- Support stakeholders on the design of grant programs, assessment processes, grant agreements and payment processes.
- Effectively liaise and consult with community organisations and government agencies.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks of grant programs.
Requirements:
- Current and valid NSW Driver's License
- NSW Working with Children Check clearance
This role is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons who meet specific eligibility criteria.
