Job Overview

This role requires a deep understanding of SOX and other relevant compliance frameworks, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams.

We are seeking an experienced professional who can lead our Assurance and Advisory Services team in providing risk assessment, controls evaluation, and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Assurance and Assurance Advisory, with experience in providing Risk and Controls services, Program and Project Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, and Controls transformation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading the execution of Assurance and Assurance Advisory services around risk assessment, controls evaluation, and compliance initiatives.
  • Managing teams to deliver Business Process / IT Assurance / Audit engagements - including the execution of evaluating and design of controls in support of external and internal audits as well as Program Assurance engagements
  • Assisting in the preparation and review of reports for clients and other stakeholders
  • Nurturing client relationships to achieve service expectations, deliverables, and outcomes
  • Opportunities to develop skills in emerging technology risk areas, such as AI, Blockchain, and Cyber Security
  • Partnering with internal and external teams, addressing compliance, financial, and operational risk, and assessing current state internal controls and frameworks in order to mitigate current and emerging risks
  • Working effectively across multiple internal and external teams, building strong relationships across Consulting and Assurance teams and with Clients
  • Ensure client deliverables are on time and to the standard expected by the client and engagement partner/principal
Requirements:
  • A passion for Assurance and Assurance Advisory
  • One or more of the following or equivalent +6 years of experience in providing Assurance or Assurance Advisory over Risk and Controls (Business Process and/or IT General Controls), Program and Project Risk Management services, Regulatory Compliance (e.g. Privacy, SoCI Act, ESG, SOX, Spam Act), Controls transformation
  • Practical and solution-oriented approach to assess new technology, and evaluate and advise on impact, risk, and remediation
  • High level communication and engagement skills, including exceptional report writing abilities
  • Strong business acumen, commercially focused attitude
  • Inspiring leadership capability with the motivation to develop others, build high performing teams, and effectively delegate with appropriate levels of support
  • Excellent project management skills including ability to lead fieldwork
  • Canberra - Current Australian security clearance, or the ability to obtain one is required for the Canberra office. Please note, Australian citizenship is required to obtain an Australian Government security clearance
