This role is ideal for recent graduates or those seeking to transition into a Purchasing/Buying career.
About the Job:- Participate in a structured 12-month program involving rotations through all category teams within the Purchasing Team to build expertise in category management principles, best practices, and category ownership.
- Collaborate with the Head of Product Pillar to manage assigned categories, support sourcing projects, partner with suppliers, and optimize product range for customers and performance metrics.
- Efficiently oversee assigned categories in Exclusive Brands and Third Party Brands.
- Identify opportunities for range expansion and sourcing new products.
- Negotiate trading terms and prices for every order.
- Manage electronic direct mail campaigns for assigned categories to promote products and ranges.
- Drive profitability through competitive pricing and cost optimization.
- Continuously seek new and better ways of working to support efficient and effective processes.
- University Degree qualified in a relevant field (Commerce, Business or similar).
- Practical Retail experience will be highly regarded, but not essential.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills.
- Commercial acumen and ability to recognize opportunity and make quick decisions.
- Agile and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Tech-savvy with various IT and cloud-based tools.
- Work with a talented team to solve important challenges and drive eCommerce's future.
