About Katherine Town Council:
Katherine Town Council is the Municipal Council for Katherine, NT. We provide services to the Katherine Community relating to rates, roads, infrastructure, animal control, waste management and other core essential services.
Located at a critical crossroads point for Northern Australia, Katherine is the fourth largest township in the Northern Territory, connecting Perth to Darwin from the west and Adelaide to Darwin through the north/south highway and rail corridor. Our community of around 8,000 people benefits from access to education and medical services, with the local RAAF Airbase at Tindal adding an additional 2,000 residents.

This position reports directly to the Project Manager and is responsible for providing high-level administrative support to the Projects Team. Key responsibilities include monitoring project deadlines, reporting on integral information, and ensuring effective communication across key stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to meet the positions' key responsibilities;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- High level administrative skills including ability to work independently;
- High level computer skills: experience in Microsoft Office products and packages;
- High Level customer service experience and skills;
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve;
- Ability to understand various legislations, statutory obligations, and Council policies in order to make informed decisions;
- Extensive knowledge and skill gained through on-the-job training;
- Minimum experience of 2 years in similar or related administrative roles.
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
