Highway Engineer

Our team seeks a highly skilled Highway Engineer to make a significant impact on our ability to create positive change in the world. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical expertise under the direction of a Project Manager on the engineering development of urban and rural highway/roadway projects.
  • Overseeing the work of CAD Designers, and possibly other EITs.
  • Preparing detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects.
  • Participating in activities ranging from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase.
  • Assuming some project management duties and interacting with clients as needed.
  • Performing other duties as required.

Key qualifications include:

  • 5 years' experience in highway design.
  • Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout, and CAD base alignment plans.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience using MicroStation, InRoads, Open Roads Designer (ORD), LDD, or other CAD design software.
  • MS Office knowledge.
  • Local candidates are preferred.

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d.
  • MS Office knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout, and CAD base alignment plans.
