Position Overview
The Health & Safety Specialist will focus on ensuring the safety of TK Maxx Australia Associates, emphasizing their well-being and the importance of returning home safely after each shift.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist in the integration of the TK Maxx Workplace Health and Safety Culture Initiative, emphasizing safety at work and at home.
- Provide support, mentorship, and technical advice to Store teams regarding safety leadership and practices.
- Offer Health & Safety expertise on various complex physical and psychological risks associated with our growing network.
- Participate in the creation of innovative Psychosocial Risk Management Programs.
- Guide and support Store Management in implementing the Stores Risk Management Program, including critical risk strategies and the Safety Management System.
- Conduct ICAM level investigations in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Facilitate the sharing of ICAM insights across the national store network.
- Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of Store Health & Safety Risk programs, including risk registers and ICAM risk treatment plans.
- Collaborate closely with Operational Management and Risk & Governance to ensure compliance and conduct audits of ISO systems and critical control verification reviews.
- Prepare and analyze monthly reports.
- Foster a culture of reporting by encouraging timely hazard and incident reporting, while building accountability for corrective actions.
- Act as the primary contact for regulatory engagements, inspections, and audits.
Candidate Profile
- Possess technical skills and formal qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety.
- Familiarity with Managing Psychosocial Global Standard 45003 and the Australian Code of Practice.
- Extensive experience in hands-on WHS roles across multiple sites.
- Demonstrate a consultative approach, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in conducting ICAM level investigations.
- Exceptional relationship-building, mentoring, and influencing capabilities.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
