About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Workplace Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at Hostplus. As a WHS Advisor, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for our employees nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on WHS matters to leaders and employees, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, investigations, and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement workplace mental health and wellbeing systems and programs.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and injury management.
  • Chair the WHS Committee and ensure that all required duties are performed, including safety inspections, emergency evacuation drills, and training programs.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar role within a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of national WHS laws and best practices.
  • Experience in psychosocial risk management and continued improvements in how psychosocial risks are investigated and managed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
