Role Summary

This role involves overseeing the efficient operation of a ship's engine and mechanical equipment. Key responsibilities include performing routine maintenance tasks in the engine room, ensuring propulsion systems function optimally and adhering to Performance Management Systems (PMS) requirements.

About the Position

  • Maintaining operational efficiency of engines and ancillary machinery on vessels with high-power propulsion systems.
  • Ensuring seamless self-unloading operations by maintaining relevant machinery and adhering to PMS guidelines.
  • Carrying out additional duties assigned by senior engineers or management as required.

About You

  • Must possess qualifications as per AMSA Marine Order 72 - Engineer Class 3.
  • A minimum of 12 months relevant experience, including at least 36 weeks of sea time on vessels above 750 kilowatts.
  • Certificate of Safety Training (STCW).
  • Safe working at heights certification.
  • Ability to enter and work in confined spaces.
  • Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) holder or eligible for it.
  • Australian citizenship or unlimited Australian work rights.
  • Currently residing in Australia.
  • Comfortable wearing a respirator mask.
