Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our Water Projects team within our Fulton Hogan Utilities business. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator or Commercial Manager to drive their career further and contribute to our company's success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Develop the Commercial Function: Manage, lead, and develop the Commercial and Procurement functions within a large integrated delivery team, working collaboratively with key customers.
- Provide Commercial Support: Offer ongoing commercial support to project teams throughout contract/program delivery cycles.
- Manage Contractual Claims and Variations: Prepare and/or defend contractual claims and variations.
- Respond to Client and Stakeholder Needs: Proactively respond to changes in client and stakeholder needs and expectations, developing collaborative relationships based on trust.
- Design Commercial Models: Design innovative commercial models that optimize outcomes while providing value add/continuous improvement to our clients.
- Mentor and Lead a Team: Mentor and lead a team of Contract Administrators, finance, and administrative personnel.
Requirements
- Relevant Degree: A relevant degree in law, commerce, quantity surveying, construction management, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Commercial Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of commercial models and activities in construction programs, as well as design and construct contracts.
- Contract Law: Sound knowledge and practical experience in the application of commercial and contract law.
- Negotiation Skills: Ability to apply various techniques to seek constructive outcomes to contract negotiations, including the ability to influence others and defend commercial positions.
- JD Edwards Experience: Experience with the JD Edwards financial application will be highly regarded.
- Tender Evaluation: Ability to evaluate tender documents and estimates.
