Incident Management Specialist

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is seeking a highly skilled Incident Management Specialist to join our team.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to contribute to the development and implementation of incident management strategies, policies, and procedures. As an Incident Management Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-level administrative and project support to the Incident Management Capability teams.
Main Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the Incident Management Capability teams, including maintaining document management systems, filling and financial administration.
- Contribute to the review, development, and implementation of policies, procedures, systems, and communications to meet business objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure IM capability readiness information is shared between regions, other emergency services, and agencies.
- Assist in the preparation and review of reports, briefing notes, submissions, departmental or other correspondence, in accordance with organisational requirements.
- A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification or ability to obtain within a mutually agreed timeframe.
- High level understanding of Australasian Inter-Service Incident Management System (AIIMS) and QFES operational concepts.
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working in an operational coordination centre along with knowledge or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of QLD Disaster Management arrangements (QDMA).
- Hold or ability to obtain Level 1 Procurement Queensland Government purchasing qualification.
This role involves working in a dynamic environment, fostering teamwork, and actively participating in performance and development programs. It is expected that the incumbent will participate in an out-of-hours roster during emergency event operations, which may require work outside of normal working hours, including weekends, extended hours, and deployment to other parts of the state.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $103,946.14, based on the location and industry standards.
