Project Manager Role at Holcim

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of project managers and drive the overall management of production projects from order stage through to final delivery and site follow-up.

About the Opportunity

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team of project managers, ensuring timely delivery of quality products and services that meet customer expectations. Key objectives include driving project performance to achieve tendered objectives and targets, encouraging continued business with head contractors in the construction and infrastructure industries.

Key Accountabilities
  • Producing manufacturing and delivery programs for all project stakeholders and providing regular updates on On-Time-In-Full delivery.
  • Ensuring correct specifications and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Reviewing and assessing contracts, specifications, and drawings to minimize Humes' exposure to potential risks and ensure compliance with obligations.
  • In conjunction with Production, ensuring Bill of Materials (BOMs) and Material Masters reflect the final estimates to proactively reduce Production Variance (PV).
  • Monitoring project budgets in liaison with operational stakeholders to control spending and meet financial targets.
  • Ensuring specialized non-stock items for each allocated project are correctly detailed in the procurement process for accurate and timely delivery.
  • Driving continuous improvement in tendering and quoting, including active involvement in developing new and innovative ways to improve the bottom line of the business.
About You
  • A qualification in or sound understanding of civil engineering principles.
  • Experience in Precast, Concrete, and/or related industries (Construction, Steel, heavy manufacturing) would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Quantity Surveying, Estimating, and Tendering.
  • Extensive project management experience.
  • Able to read drawings.
  • A good understanding of cost drivers in the business.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of contractual matters and high commercial awareness.
  • A proactive approach to managing time, cost, quality, and OH&S issues with outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Sound skills in Microsoft Office and SAP.
