At Melba Support Services, we are actively recruiting for Casual Disability Support Workers to join our team in Ballarat.

You will work alongside an engaged, committed, and expert team to ensure the people we support lead happy and fulfilling lives.

Our culture, supports, and frameworks are built on a foundation of human rights and zero tolerance for the abuse or neglect of people with disabilities.

We are looking for individuals with a diverse range of experience, including those currently working in the sector, caring for family members, friends, or community members, young people looking to establish a career, or those who may be retired or on a career break.

As a Disability Support Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing support plans based on the needs, preferences, and interests of the individuals we support.
  • Assisting with daily living tasks, such as getting up in the morning and going to bed at night.
  • Aiding individuals to attend social events, work, and appointments.
  • Promoting personal choice and control for the individuals we support.
  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene, household duties, and administering medication.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A passion for enabling and working with people.
  • A desire for meaningful work and comfort in providing daily living support.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and undertake ongoing training.
  • A willingness to work as part of a team.

You will also need to bring or be willing to obtain:

  • NDIS Worker screening Check.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Unrestricted Australian Driver's License.
  • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status.
  • Current First Aid Certificate with CPR.

Shift work is required, including mornings, evenings, and weekends, with shift lengths ranging from 3.5 hours to 12 hours (with breaks).
